Where can I get a tachometer for my Kubota B7100? Automotive tachs typically run off the distributor but how does it work with a diesel? Are there any tachs for the PTO itself?

Somewhere in your owners manual it will tell you how many engine rpm's equal 540 pto rpm's.
If there is no manual with your tractor I bet someone here can give you the numbers. ....
